A Child is Born!

Isaiah 9:6-7 (ESV):

For to us a child is born,
    to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
    and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of peace
    there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
    to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
    from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

It’s that time of the year-Christmas, the season of giving. No one gave more than God. He gave His son. No matter how hard we try, the good we do for God, for whatever reason, can never atone for the sin in our leaves. We serve a holy God. So holy, that God Almighty cannot be in the presence of sin. The only atonement for sin was a perfect blood sacrifice. The only solution-God Himself, in human form. He could have come to earth in any way; instead, He chose the most humblest of means. He was born of a virgin teenager and birthed in a manger.

This Christmas season, I want to blog on aspects of Christ’s birth and try to look at them new ways I haven’t thought about before. It’s so easy to take his birth for granted; this year, I want to explore and try to give Him the praise and glory He so justly deserves!
