1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT):

18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

I heard on the radio that November is the month of being thankful. It got me thinking that I should be thankful all the time, not just on Thanksgiving or even in the month of November. However, since it is November, I’m going to focus my blogs on things for which I am thankful. So, for today, here are a few things I’m thankful for:

  • Cool Fall weather, although tomorrow will be in the 80’s!
  • Beautiful sunsets
  • The sound of leaves when Jack and are I are traipsing through them in the back yard
  • My husband and family
  • Good doctors
  • World Horizons and my church, Mechanicsville Church of Christ
  • Friends

Thinking about being thankful also reminded me of Paul’s words of wisdom found in Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT):

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

I need to think about good things more often, and I aim to do so this holiday season. May the God of peace be with you during this holiday season!
