2 Corinthians 5:1 (ESV):
For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
This is my home, my earthly one. We are blessed to rent this home from an excellent landlord; however, this is not my home. Eternity with Christ is.
Sunday, Ryan, our team leader in Turkey, was denied access back into Turkey. His family is still there. He was labeled as a security risk and given a life-time ban from the country. We are sad and mourn with him, but we trust in God’s sovereign plan. Ryan has lost his home, but he holds onto God’s truth. While being detained at the airport in Ankara Sunday, he chose to pray for the country he loves and its people. As his email to us was being read Monday, I was brought to tears because of the love, courage, and faith of this man. It would have been so easy for him to be angry and bitter. Instead, he turned to His heavenly father in prayer for the ones he loves and for the country he has come to love. Will you join me in praying for Ryan, his family, the team in Turkey, and the people of Turkey?
