1 Corinthians 11: 1 (ESV):

Be imitators of me [Paul], as I am of Christ.

In Sunday School, we going through a book and accompanying video series by Chip Ingram. In a video, Chip says, “You always become like the people you hang out with.” This quote really made an impression on me. We have also been discussing at work in our morning office devotions the life of Paul as studied in various books he has authored. The two sayings go hand in hand to me. Our goal should be to live as Christ. Paul was so grounded in his faith that he implored other believers to act him, for new believers needed discipleship and a model to follow after. Scary to me, but possible given that we get to live daily in a life of grace. I’ve had to raise my standard and make a conscientious effort to model Christ in all my actions. It’s hard, but following after Christ is hard and worth the effort. I’m so thankful to have both my church and work family to be a part of. I’m surrounded by people I’m happy to be like!
