Colossians 3:12-14 (NLT):
12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
Colossians 3:14 tells us to clothe ourselves with love. We get the privilege of showing this love to refugee women through the Hila Sewing Project. We’re not just teaching them English and how to sew, we are “clothing” them in love. We get to do this because Christ loves us and calls us to love others.
I work in a place where it’s easy to “make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you.” I’m so grateful to work where I do because my human nature is to see my own faults often and to see other’s faults as well. It’s simply human nature to do so! However, daily, I’m encouraged to be like Christ and to share His marvelous love with others. I am happy!
